Al-Qaeda Suspect Arrested at Manila Airport

The Courier-Mail reports:
A suspected member of Osama bin Laden's militant Islamic al-Qaeda network has been arrested at Manila airport on arrival in the Philippines from Saudi Arabia.

The suspect, whose name was on a blacklist of individuals with possible terrorist links, was detained upon disembarking from a commercial flight from Riyadh on March 15.
According to an ABS-CBN News report, the suspect is 34-year-old Nasser Alarifi, a Saudi Arabian citizen, who arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Riyadh on Philippine Airlines Flight 659. Notably, airport authorities have been on high alert for possible terrorist infiltrators.
