Dan Rather Ponders Next World War

(Portland, Oregon) Dan Rather visited Portland on Monday to speak at the World Affairs Council of Oregon's 2005-2006 International Speaker Series. In a 45-minute speech, he shared some opinions about trans-Pacific geopolitical issues.

From OregonLive.com:
If there's another world war, it's likely to ignite among nations in the North Pacific region, rather than Europe, as past widespread conflicts have.

That was among the prognostications presented to a Portland audience Monday night by Dan Rather, the longtime CBS News reporter and former anchorman.

North Korea, China and Russia have nuclear weapons and all three have leaders with ambitions for greater influence, Rather said.
Frankly, I expect that Rather's assessment is not anything new to military and political strategists.
