Teacher Deanna Bobo Loses Appeal - Updated

(Little Rock, Arkansas) The Arkansas Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of 40-year-old Deanna Bobo on two counts of first-degree sexual assault.
The appeals court rejected Bobo's argument that the lower court abused its discretion by admitting into evidence 19 e-mails exchanged between her and the victim and allowing the jury to hear her request during a recorded statement her request to speak with an attorney.
Last January, the Arkansas Board of Education revoked Bobo's teaching license.

[Update 11/1/08]

Deanna Bobo loses second appeal and is taken into custody to start serving her two consecutive six-year terms in prison.
