Texas Teacher Admits to Sex with Student - Updated

(Cleveland, Texas) A 25-year-old sixth-grade English teacher at Cleveland Middle School, Kimberley Sinclair, has reportedly admitted to engaging in sex with a 15-year-old student. As a result, Sinclair resigned her teaching position.

A Cleveland ISD spokesman said that its police department has completed its investigation and has forwarded all information to the Cleveland Police Department for further action.

Cleveland police said Sinclair called them and admitted to an inappropriate relationship. Police said she scheduled a meeting with them for Tuesday, but never showed up.

Police continue to investigate. It's expected that a warrant will ultimately be issued for Sinclair's arrest. [10/15/09 entry]


[Update 10/22/09] Kimberly Sinclair was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony sexual assault of a child. She was booked into custody at the Liberty County Jail with bond set at $110,000.
