Michigan "Sex Slave" Case

(Lake Orion, Michigan) In September, a 52-year-old woman was hired as a live-in housekeeper by two men who then held her captive and turned her into a sex slave. After two months, an acquaintance helped the woman escape and police were notified.

Consequently, Leon Jeffery Setty, 54, and Frank Brian Bennett, 47, were arrested and charged with numerous counts of criminal sexual assault.

According to Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh:
Police finally became involved when Narsh said the pair tried to "sell" her services to a 31-year-old acquaintance of the pair on Nov. 7, but he declined.

"She was lying on a couch, covered with a blanket, and one of the men pulled off the blanket to show her partially nude body and offered to sell her to him for $5," Narsh said. "When he declined, they even offered her for free."

Narsh said when Setty and Bennett fell asleep, the Lapeer man took the woman to police.
Reportedly, the woman had enjoyed a small amount of freedom and was allowed to leave occasionally for brief periods but was frozen with fear by threats from the two men. They said they would kill her and harm her relatives, including a 13-year-old daughter. The men allegedly kept her drunk and engaged in having sex.

Setty and Bennett were booked into custody at the Oakland County Jail with bonds set at $1 million each.
