New York Woman Accused of Raping Boy

(Rome, New York) A 31-year-old local woman, Tonya Kersey, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Kersey faces a charge of third-degree felony rape.

Authorities say that Kersey had sex with a 15 year old boy in April.

She was arraigned in Rome City Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.

The case now gets handed over to the Oneida County District Attorney's Office for Grand Jury action.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center.
