(Salisbury, Maryland) A 30-year-old fourth-grade teacher at East Salisbury Elementary School, Candace Pianka, has been arrested for the alleged sex abuse of her 13-year-old daughter.
(Yuba City, California) Former Live Oak High School health aide and librarian, Sharon Janelle Souza, 43, has been sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor charge of unlawful sex with a boy under 18.A felony charge of oral copulation with a minor and a misdemeanor charge of annoying or molesting a minor were dismissed, according to the Sutter County District Attorney's Office.Therefore, despite Judge Brian Aronson characterizing her offenses as "pretty serious stuff," Souza is walking away from court as if it were not all that big a deal.
Souza was given credit for five days already served in jail and ordered to attend a sex offender counseling class. She was ordered to stay away from the victim and not associate with minors under 18.
A preliminary hearing in the criminal case was set for March 26. The charges against Souza, who was arrested Monday, involve alleged acts by her in late December 2009.Souza was booked into custody with bail set at $50,000.
Tom Pritchard, Live Oak Unified superintendent, said Souza is no longer an employee. She worked as a librarian and later as a health aide at different sites in the school district, Pritchard said.
Pritchard said he could not comment on whether the alleged victim attends a Live Oak Unified school.

The aim of Draw Mohammed Day is to showcase too many Muhammad artists for radical Muslims to head-butt or murder. The Facebook group is 35,000 strong. To compare, the anti-Draw Mohammed Day group is almost 30,000 strong. Both are gaining members rapidly.
The reason to take crayons to the prophet is to plumb not the tolerance of Islam but the limits of artistic freedom. To the mind of an artist, or to students bombarded since preschool with the First Amendment, it must seem peculiar that the vast universe contains but one thing that cannot be represented visually. Especially when that one thing is off-limits because, somewhere in the distant past, someone settled on one unshakable interpretation of a few lines in the Koran.
Even Molly Norris, the Seattle artist responsible for Draw Mohammed Day, has disowned it. Why? In a Los Angeles Times interview, Norris explained that her cartoons “struck a gigantic nerve.” She should feel artistically validated for riling the masses, but because radicals have decided to impose an Islamic belief on non-Muslims, she can only cringe and hide.

(Cincinnati, Ohio) A 34-year-old local woman, Katie Rosenbluth, has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy.
Responding to the state of Arizona passing an immigration law, Mexican President Calderon was in Washington today to spew criticism. In Mexico State, on the outskirts of Mexico City, authorities said Tuesday that residents of a town beat a man death on suspicion of robbing a young couple of 200 pesos (about $16) and a cell phone Monday.It's pretty sad when a foreign leader verbally trashes the U.S. when his own house is in shambles. It's also sad that we don't have an administration who will speak up for the United States and its citizens when officially disrespected in public.
The suspect and an accomplice allegedly held up the couple with a knife and what later was found to be a toy gun.
About 300 people pursued the two men, caught one and beat him so badly with sticks and fists that he died in an ambulance, officials said.
“As a consequence of her husband's said departure, the plaintiff wept uncontrollably at her workplace, did so in the presence of other employees, distracted them, was unfocused and became incapable of performing her employment duties,” the statement of claim says.Rogers legal team says it's not responsible for Ms. Nagy's affair or consequences.

Yes!"An 18-year-old Emirati woman has been charged with having sex outside of wedlock after reporting that she was raped by six men, Abu Dhabi’s Criminal Court was told yesterday. […]All six men face charges with four being prosecuted in absentia.
The woman and one of her male Emirati friends, HA, went for a drive in his vehicle on May 2, prosecutors said. The charges allege that because she had agreed to be in the car, the two had, therefore, met to have sex. According to court records, HA, 19, called five of his friends – four Emiratis and one Iraqi – and invited them to join him.
Prosecutors said that after HA and the woman had sex in an unknown location in Abu Dhabi, the five men met up with them. At that point, the charges say, the men all raped her in HA’s car.
The woman later contacted police and said she had been raped by six men, including HA. It is not known when she reported the attack.

Parents of children under five are to get home checks to ensure they are keeping their youngsters safe.Of course, the child safety police will be in addition to the refrigerator and cupboard police and the trash bin law enforcers already empowered by British nanny-state stupidity.
Inspectors will check whether families have installed smoke alarms, stair gates, locks on medicine cupboards, windows and ovens, and fitted temperature controls to stop bath water getting too hot.
Guidelines for inspections have been drawn up on the instructions of the Department of Health in a bid to prevent injuries among under-15s in the home.
(Bartholomew County, Ohio) A 26-year-old woman, Ashlie N. Walsh, has been arrested for attempted trafficking of methamphetamine and tobacco into Bartholomew County Jail. Correction officer Phillip Smith, a five-month jail employee, was inspecting incoming inmate mail Tuesday when he noticed a suspicious item consisting of two large envelopes addressed to "Rusty" Rossman.Walsh was booked into custody with bond set at $100,000. She faces a charge of attempted trafficking with an inmate.
A sheriff’s undercover narcotics officer found several smaller envelopes containing letters, pictures and drawings and three photos, including a photo of a woman holding children in front of a Christmas tree.
The officer recognized the woman as Walsh, who was not suppose to have contact with Rossman.
Located within the mailings was a white piece of paper with what looked like crayon drawings and stickers of bugs. On the back, sticky side of the stickers was a brown leaf substance that appeared to be tobacco, according to the affidavit.
The undercover officer also found a paper cutout of the Disney cartoon character Goofy, on the back side of which was a thin strip of green cellophane containing a yellowish-white powdery substance.
A field test on the substance returned a positive result for methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.
Brown leaf like granules and a yellow powdery substance also were found in plastic coverings on the back side the photographs.

(Kansas City, Missouri) A 44-year-old local mom, Karen Christine Downs, has pleaded guilty to supplying young teenage girls with alcohol during an overnight birthday party in February 2009.Police were called to Downs’ residence in the 1600 block of Northwest 55th Terrace in Kansas City, North, after a noise complaint.Kelsee Guest is scheduled for trial in October on a charge of felony endangerment. Downs is scheduled for sentencing on July 8. Her lawyer seeks probation.
Officers found six 13- or 14-year old girls. The girls were at the home for a birthday party and admitted they had been drinking heavily. One of the girls said she had beer and nine or 10 shots of vodka.
The girl who chugged vodka and a 13-year-old girl who had passed out were taken to a hospital to be checked for alcohol poisoning. Police said they found at least 70 empty beer bottles and empty vodka and bourbon bottles in the basement.
Downs gave her daughter the vodka bottle to see how long she could chug it while another girl counted, according to court documents.
When they ran out of alcohol, another woman, Kelsee Guest, allegedly asked the girls if they had money to buy another bottle of vodka. Downs, Guest and one of the girls then allegedly bought more vodka.
(Paris, France) Having spent 10 months on house arrest in Iran for allegedly participating in political demonstrations, 24-year-old Clotilde Reiss has been freed.On Sunday morning, French teacher Clotilde Reiss boarded a plane bound for Paris, ending a period of detention in Iran that dates back to last summer.President Nicolas Sarkozy has planned a reception for Reiss.
Ten months ago, on July 1, Reiss was arrested in Tehran during demonstrations against Iran's newly elected president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
She was charged a month later for allegedly undermining national security and sentenced to 10 years in jail. She was released on bail to the French embassy in Tehran, where she has been staying under house arrest.
The prison sentence was commuted to a fine of 230,000 euros ($285,000). Mohammad Ali Mahdavi Sabet, Reiss's lawyer, paid the fine on Saturday, at which point Reiss was allowed to leave the country. She flew to Dubai, where she boarded a French government plane on Sunday, landing at Villacoublay air base outside Paris in the early afternoon.
(Hawkins County, Tennessee) A special education teacher at Volunteer High School, Melissa Jean “Lisa” Leeper, has been arrested for allegedly being intoxicated in public.Leeper, a special education teacher's aid at Volunteer, was found in an area near the school's gym when deputies arrived. According to a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office report, she appeared to be in an intoxicated state.Leeper has been charged with public intoxication and violation of the state drug control act.
A search of Leeper's purse allegedly revealed several medications for which she could not provide prescriptions.
Deputies say Suboxone, Xanax, Tramadol, Valium and what appeared to be crushed Lortab pills were found.
Scissors and a section of plastic drinking straw, both of which had pill residue, were also allegedly discovered.
(Dalton, Georgia) A 30-year-old Spanish teacher at Whitfield High School, Jonadab Burgueno, has been sentenced by Judge Jack Partain to five years in prison for attempting to take a cell phone photo under a girl's skirt during school hours. Defense attorney Mike Corbin said Burgueno had “numerous avenues of support” and asked the court to “be lenient.”Heh.
Partain mentioned that he had received 79 letters “on (Burgueno’s) behalf” and that there were issues “swirling around” in the case that made it difficult to judge. He mentioned “a lot of good things going for him” such as no prior record, good character “up until (the time of his arrest),” and that he came from a good family.
“However, I want it to be made clear that a letter-writing campaign does not sway the court in any way whatsoever,” Partain said. “Another thing that he has going in his favor is that the victims were not physically touched although they were emotionally traumatized ... (and) Mr. Burgueno did admit to what he did freely in court, finally, he did admit that.
“On the other side of the coin, I think about who has the most influence in anybody’s life other than your own parents, and that would be your teachers (who) influence you more than anybody ... he had a tremendously responsible job being a teacher. I’m not sure he realized that based on his conduct. A child puts special trust in his or her teacher, and it’s traumatic to a child and devastating to a child when a teacher violates that trust, as Mr. Burgueno has done.”
The girl’s father said Burgueno’s family had apologized to him “over and over” during court proceedings and that it was “appreciated.”
