Sheriff Joe Arpaio Mulls Senate Run



(Phoenix, Arizona) Sheriff Joe Arpaio is considering the possibility of a Senate run In light of poll results indicating that he leads all Republican candidates for the seat of retiring Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ).

Arpaio said the deciding factor is neither the money, which he said he could raise, nor his ability to do the job. Rather, he said, it's whether he would be willing to leave his job as sheriff.

Arpaio has served as sheriff for five terms and is currently running for a sixth. But, he said, that doesn't mean he won't run for the Senate.

"The issue is whether I want to leave this office and go to Washington and try to make a difference there, which I would do if I run and win," Arpaio said.

Arpaio said it was a little early to make a final decision.

Polling found likely GOP voters would select Arpaio over former Rep. J.D. Hayworth and Rep. Jeff Flake.

Activists clear snow in stilettos and miniskirts
(St. Petersburg, Russia) A group of activist females, calling themselves the X-Z Movement, were out in force this past week shoveling snow in stiletto heels and miniskirts. According to a group spokesperson,

"With vivid, beautiful actions we can turn the attention of people and of the government to the issues that concern us.

"We have a slogan: 'Beauty will save the world.' "[…]

X-Z is one of several activist groups to have sprung up in the former Soviet Union during the past two years whose sole members are attractive young women.

The group has often been compared with FEMEN, a group of scantily clad female activists based in Kiev, Ukraine.

X-Z is getting a lot of attention.

Transgender Pleads Guilty in Breast Exam Case - Updated

(Boise, Idaho) Transgender Kristina Ross pleaded guilty last week to reduced charges of misdemeanor battery in accordance with a plea agreement. Other charges were dropped.

A psychological evaluation will be performed prior to her scheduled sentencing on March 30.

Woman Really Man in Fake Breast Exam Case - Updated

(Boise, Idaho) New information indicates that Kristina Ross has never been a licensed doctor and police are searching for other possible victims of her fake exams.

Ross faces two counts of practicing medicine without a license, each punishable by a possible five years in prison.

Also, Ross has a criminal record as a man in Idaho.

Prosecutors asked 4th District Magistrate Kevin Swain for a $100,000 bond for Ross, saying the “most concerning facts here are that (Ross) is not a doctor and that (Ross) is a male touching women’s breasts under the guise of being a female doctor.”

Ross gasped, “Oh my god!” when prosecutors made that claim.[…]

Swain opted for the higher bond but said that was mainly because of Ross’ previous conviction for aggravated battery and the fact she does not seem to have any family or work connection in the Boise area despite living here for the last three years.

Ross was convicted of aggravated battery in Twin Falls in 2003 under the name Kristina Ross, but was classified by the Idaho Department of Correction as a man. She was kept in a male prison between Oct. 2004 to 2008 and her gender on IDOC documents is listed as MTF (male to female) when she entered custody in 2004.

In conclusion, Ross is living as a woman while apparently possessing male junk and impersonating a doctor who gives women breast exams. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 1.

Idaho Woman Arrested for Fake Breast Exams

(Boise, Idaho) A 37-year-old local woman, Kristina Ross, was arrested yesterday for allegedly claiming to be a doctor and performing breast exams on women she met at bars.

Police first heard of the incidents on November 2nd, after being called to a medical office in downtown Boise that was reporting a string of strange calls.

The office said it had received numerous calls over the proceeding weeks coming from women claiming they had an appointment with a "Dr. Berlyn Aussieahshowna." Employees were concerned because no one by that name works at the office.

Police obtained the names of two woman victims and found during interviews both woman had met Ross at a bar or nightclub.

Ross was booked into custody at the Ada County Jail.

Hookah Bar Hosts Teen Lingerie Party

(Denver, Colorado) The Puff Hookah Bar and Lounge hosted a lingerie party for teenage girls.




Parents are understandably upset.

"It's got to be a sex offenders dream," said Crissy, a mother of two teenage girls who did not want her last name used. "One of our daughters was invited by some of her friends to go, unfortunately."

The description of the event on the bar's website, inviting girls 16 years and older, reads: "Lingerie night: no cover charge for females who come dressed up."[…]

"There's dancing poles in there. They're inviting 16 year old girls to come in there with hopes they're going to dance on those poles," Chrissy said.

It's not clear what is being smoked in the hookah bar since tobacco is outlawed for minors in Colorado.

Cougar Convention

(Costa Mesa, California) About 75 people attended last Saturday's Orange County Cougar Convention, organized by Rich Gosse of The Society of Single Professionals, to witness the selection of Melanie Garrett, 52, as 2010 Miss Cougar Valentine.

Garrett won after being selected by the men in attendance who made their choice based on -- hell if I know. Reportedly, there was no talent competition, no swimsuit competition nor were the women asked how they would save the world.

With her crown, Garrett received a trip to the International Cougar Week at the Hedonism II Resort & Spa in Negril, Jamaica, where she will compete in the Miss Cougar International Contest.

For the unenlightened, a cougar is defined as a woman older than 40, who is interested in younger men (referred to as cubs), with a difference of more than 10 years. Or, as one woman remarked, "It's kind of like babysitting with perks."

Rastamouse provokes complaints of racism and teaching bad language



We read:

"He is an animated reggae-singing mouse who has become a hit for the BBC, entertaining children with his attempts to fight crime and spread love and respect. Yet dreadlocked Rastamouse has provoked more than a hundred complaints to the corporation with parents expressing fears the show is racist and encouraging the use of slang.

The BBC has received complaints from six viewers that the animated show stereotypes black people, while another 95 have complained about the language used in the show.

The Rastafarian mouse, who leads a band called the Easy Crew and speaks in Jamaican Patois, uses phrases such as "me wan go" ("I want to go"), "irie" ("happy"), "wagwan" ("what's going on?"). His mission is to "make a bad ting good".

I don't have much sympathy with the claim that it stereotypes Jamaicans. I think it glorifies Jamaicans, if anything. But I am amazed that the BBC is teaching non-standard English. I thought that the BBC had an educational role.

I know what is going on though. Accent is very important in England, with RP ("Oxford English") being far more prestigious than any other. BBC announcers all used to speak RP but Leftists hate anything that is not "equal" so the BBC has made a point in recent years of using announcers with "Regional" accents. Teaching Jamaican English is just the logical endpoint of that process, I suppose. The fact that Jamaican English is not even used by all people of Jamaican ancestry does not matter, obviously. Tearing down good English is all that matters.

Theft By Finding

(Essex, England) A local woman, Sasha Hall, was arrested for picking food out of the garbage.

Dozens of people could not believe their luck after the supermarket giant put bagged up thousands of pounds of spoiled stock and left it out in the street.

Sasha Hall, 21, helped herself to potato waffles, pies and ham from the store in Great Baddow, Essex.

But she was left stunned after police arrived at her home and arrested her or "theft by finding" and took her to the station in handcuffs.

Odd, eh?

Swiss Gun Vote Today - Updated

A referendum is before Swiss voters today to abolish the tradition of citizens being allowed to keep army-issued weapons at home.

The referendum, launched by a coalition of non-governmental groups, the Church and centre-left parties, wants the weapons to be kept in armouries instead.

The people's initiative is seeks to abolish the practice of allowing those on military service to take home their government-issue assault rifles even after they leave the army.

Opinion polls have the electorate evenly divided on the issue. Results are expected to be announced soon.

Coke Mule Caught

(Boston, Massachusetts) A 21-year-old woman from New Jersey, Luisa Y. Gill, was arrested last week for allegedly muling 50 cocaine-filled condoms into the U.S.

Gill faces a charge of cocaine trafficking.

The suspected drug mule was nabbed after getting off a JetBlue [JBLU] flight from the Dominican Republic.

U.S. Customs officers questioned her and found her answers suspicious, according to state police.

State troopers and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force agents said Gill admitted to being a drug courier and swallowing the pellets of pressed coke. The estimated street value of the drugs is $50,000, investigators said.

Gill was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where doctors administered laxatives to expedite the removal of the pellets from her system, authorities said.

Gill was booked in to custody with bail set at $200,000.

Why you should not hold your assets in U.S. dollar deposits

As the excerpt below sets out, you will soon discover that Mr Obama is stealing them from you. Inflation is the silent thief. Obama will fund his spending from your savings. The more dollars he prints, the less your dollars will buy. Even the Mexican peso could well hold its value better than the U.S. dollar in the near future.

So? Invest now in the shares of companies not likely to go under in the panic to come. Or spend your money now on something you want: A reliable new Japanese car? An extension to your house? Something income-producing? The Chinese are ditching greenbacks for gold but that's a gamble.

Or maybe in a worst case scenario (galloping inflation COULD trigger an economic collapse akin to the Great Depression) a cellar full of canned food and bags of rice? I could live for a long time on canned food and boiled rice. Canned chili con carne is not great but it makes a reasonable meal when tipped on top of cooked rice. In my student days I once lived for 6 months on a big paper sack of skimmed milk powder. Oats for making porridge breakfasts are cheap and sustaining too. Maybe keep a goat for the milk. You don't even have to cook rolled oats. Just soak it for a while and it becomes muesli.

I myself have always kept a relatively small cash float -- even though I live in Australia and Australian governments have never been as irresponsible as Mr Obama. Australian dollars have already risen substantially against the American dollar as the smarties realize what is happening. Australia is run on the old-fashioned monetary principles that America USED to follow.

The US is hurtling toward out-of-control inflation while the political class tries to convince the hoi polloi that inflation is not a problem. Government-generated CPI data show tame inflation. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke claims deflation, not inflation, is the danger to the economy.

Despite government propaganda every shopper knows inflation is already a serious problem. The Financial Times presented annual price increases for various items, which included the following:

* copper +59%
* silver +91%
* palladium +212%
* corn +91%
* wheat +79%
* cotton +143%

These data indicate that inflation is upon us. The magnitude of these numbers suggests hyperinflation.

The effects of inflation are not limited to the US and not limited to rising prices. Spiraling food costs have been cited as a factor in political upheaval in several countries, including most recently Egypt. The US Federal Reserve, although it may be argued to be a primary driver, is not alone as a producer of inflation. As pointed out by the Daily Bell there is plenty of blame to go around:

"Central banks have pumped something like US$20 to US$50 TRILLION into the world's economy to try to reinflate economies that collapsed in 2008".

The divergence between what governments want you to believe regarding inflation and what is painfully obvious grows larger with time. In the US obvious anomalies in government reports, especially unemployment and claims that an economic recovery is underway, make the reports incredible. Few citizens believe that the recession ended 19 months ago. That claim contradicts what they experience every day.

The Federal Reserve has tripled the money supply in an effort to protect the banking system and the economy. Currently, most of this money sits in the banking system as excess reserves which could be lent out, potentially at ten-fold leverage. At some point, these banks will lend these funds out. Then, via the Daily Bell, the Fed must take decisive and rapid action:

As this currency begins, finally, to circulate, price inflation must result, unless such money is quickly removed. Central bankers have continuously claimed that excess currency can be removed from the larger economy before it does its inflationary damage ...

Inflationary damage is already evident as per the numbers above. Unless the removal of these excess funds occurs in a timely fashion, the country runs the risk of hyperinflation.

Mr. Bernanke has stated on many occasions that he is prepared to withdraw these funds before they can create damage. It is not clear what Mr. Bernanke considers damage, but one might think that rising food and energy costs might qualify. Surely uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt should qualify, if in fact they can be attributed to Central Bank policies.

The reality is that Mr. Bernanke is unable to reverse the time bomb he has placed in the banking system. To suggest otherwise reflects either duplicity or unlikely ignorance on the part of Mr. Bernanke. He will not be able to withdraw the funds he put into the banking system

Florida Teacher Arrested on Drug Charges

(Green Cove Springs, Florida) A 45-year-old teacher at Lake Asbury Elementary School, Kimberlee Faye Harris, was arrested last week on multiple drug trafficking charges.

Harris faces counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

The detectives reported finding 14 hydrocodone pills, one fentanyl patch, several drug ledgers and a metal box containing 3.3 grams of powder cocaine, a digital scale, metal spoons, a marijuana pipe and other drug paraphernalia inside the home.

Harris was booked into custody with bond set at $156,012.

Lawmakers Rumble in Venezuela

(Caracas, Venezuela) On Thursday, Hugo Chavez supporters brawled with opposition lawmakers during a session of the Venezuelan National Assembly.



Once the fight started, nationwide broadcast of National Assembly proceedings was abruptly halted.

“In the face of the opposition violence in the AN (assembly) we found ourselves obliged to go off the air. The people ask for discussion, not more fighting,” Communications Minister Andres Izarra said on Twitter.

Nebraska Woman Gets Jail in Child Sex Case

(Lincoln, Nebraska) A 20-year-old local woman, Kristina Lathan, has pleaded no contest to third-degree sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

In August, the boy disclosed that he had had sex with Lathan a month earlier, resulting in the charge.

As a result, District Judge Jodi Nelson sentenced Lathan to one year in jail with credit for 91 days time served. Lathan was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

"Smuggle Truck" Game Draws Fire from Immigration Activists



We read:

"A new online game is drawing criticism from immigration rights advocates, who say it's insensitive and offensive.

The game, called "Smuggle Truck," lets players drive a truck across what resembles the U.S.-Mexico border. Players encounter obstacles like mountains, cliffs and even dead babies.

If the truck hits those obstacles, "immigrants" fall off the truck's bed. Players succeed by getting the most "immigrants" across the border. Drivers can also earn rewards like a "Green Card." That goes to players who save passengers' lives.

The creator of the game, Alex Schwartz, says on the game's website that it is "interactive satire." He says it was inspired by friends' struggles to immigrate to the United States legally.

But immigration rights advocates say the game is offensive, and pokes fun at human suffering. They also maintain that the game propagates stereotypes, with its depictions of cartoon babies bouncing off truck beds, among other things.

NC Teacher Collared for Drugs

(Greensboro, North Carolina) Last month, a 37-year-old kindergarten teacher formerly at Murphey Traditional Academy, Denise Shakira Murphy, was arrested on drug trafficking charges after police responded to a home invasion at her house.

Murphy faces charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver, and misdemeanor maintaining a place for controlled substances.

During the investigation, officers said they found 2 to 3 ounces of cocaine, 7 pounds of marijuana and $23,000 cash inside the home.

Murphy was booked and released on $20,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for March 2.

Most Mexican Guns Not Traceable to US



It appears that most public assertions regarding the source(s) of guns in Mexico have been misleading.

Here is some clarifying data from STRATFOR.

According to the GAO report, some 30,000 firearms were seized from criminals by Mexican authorities in 2008.

Of these 30,000 firearms, information pertaining to 7,200 of them (24 percent) was submitted to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for tracing. Of these 7,200 guns, only about 4,000 could be traced by the ATF, and of these 4,000, some 3,480 (87 percent) were shown to have come from the United States.

This means that the 87 percent figure relates to the number of weapons submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF that could be successfully traced and not from the total number of weapons seized by Mexican authorities or even from the total number of weapons submitted to the ATF for tracing.

In fact, the 3,480 guns positively traced to the United States equals less than 12 percent of the total arms seized in Mexico in 2008 and less than 48 percent of all those submitted by the Mexican government to the ATF for tracing.

This means that almost 90 percent of the guns seized in Mexico in 2008 were not traced back to the United States.

Teacher Accused of Drug, Gun Offenses

(Smyrna, Tennessee) A second-grade teacher at David Youree Elementary School, Connie Dunlap, was arrested last month in Coffee County for allegedly possessing drugs and an illegal gun.

Dunlap faces charges of public intoxication, possession of a Schedule IV drug, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

District spokesman James Evans said school officials were made aware of the charges after being contacted by a member of the media.[…]

The district has launched an immediate investigation, and Dunlap was summoned to the district office this afternoon for questioning. The teacher has been instructed not to return to work pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

The school district is taking action to require employees to report arrests.
