Environmentally-Friendly Refrigerant Explodes

The European Union has mandated that all automobile air-conditioning systems must use the refrigerant known as 123 kablooey (editorialized nomenclature).
German auto giant Daimler said on Wednesday it would refuse to comply with new EU refrigerant fluid standards after explosions during crash tests on its cars using the new kind.
Since political decision-makers in the US rarely have an original thought, expect kablooey-based refrigeration products to soon be required in American automobiles.
