FBI Arrests Connecticut Woman for Mass Murder Threats

A 19-year-old woman who allegedly plotted a mass shooting and suicidal bombing at a community college in New Haven, Connecticut has been arrested and charged Thursday.

According to officials, Amanda Bowden of East Haven was detained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation after threatening a Newtown-style massacre at Gateway Community College.

It was reported that Bowden used text messages to send several threats, and exchanged text message and talked with an undercover officer about her plans to commit a mass shooting and bombing at Gateway, revealed authorities.

U.S. Attorney David Fein said Bowden allegedly made a series of threats focusing on a suicidal mass murder at a community college in New Haven.

Bowden claimed to have guns and that she had constructed at least two napalm-based bombs at her home, added Fein.
A hearing is scheduled for March 1.
