THE DEEP PAIN OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

From the Times of London comes this story that just turns my stomach. Britain is so awash in political correctness that:
. . . an official remembrance ceremony for British and allied soldiers who died in Iraq will forgo the usual military honor guard in order to appease opponents of the war.
Under no circumstances are the citizens of Great Britain capable of bestowing sufficient honor upon those that gave their lives for their country. Even the thought of minimizing that honor is inconceivable. To belittle a fallen soldier's sacrifice for political correctness is reprehensible, a smear to the memory of all who have died for Britain. The entire British Commonwealth should be outraged. I'm an American and I am outraged.
