Breast-Feeding Protection Law

(Madison, Wisconsin) This seems to be going a bit too far. Wisconsin State Sen. Fred Risser proposed anti-harassment legislation to protect breast-feeders. Violators could face a $200 fine.

From BadgerHerald.com:
This proposed legislation would allow for the prosecution of people who harass women that are breastfeeding in public.

"If a person was harassing a woman who was breastfeeding, she now -- if this bill passes -- would have a legal right to complain and that individual would be arrested and fined," Risser said.
Being arrested seems quite heavy-handed given that harassment is usually a subjective determination. The levels of tolerance exhibited by different mothers would obviously be different. Consistent enforcement of the law would be difficult.

Those opposed to the legislation believe that there are reasons for bedrooms and bathrooms to have doors. Some activities should be discretely conducted in private. I tend to agree. I'm also tired of hearing about another whiny segment in society getting special privileges. It's ridiculous that only some people would be legally protected while their bodies are sucked in public.
