Runaway Kids Going to Jail

(Spokane, Washington) The Washington State Court of Appeals has upheld a lower court decision to imprison runaway foster children until age 18 for contempt of court. Drastic action, for sure, but social service officials see no alternative. Nationally, 20 percent of all adolescent foster children run away from home.

My take? Just sadness.
