(Baldwin, Wisconsin) The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) expressed outrage regarding the sale of "Run Hadji Run" fireworks at a local Baldwin retail store. CAIR claimed the fireworks display "derogatory imagery" and asked that the product be pulled from the shelves.
The retailer complied.
On one side of the packaging for 'Run Hadji Run' fireworks, men of Middle Eastern decent are riding on camels with a bomber plane flying above them. On the other side is an angry-looking Uncle Same yanking the beard of what looks like a Muslim man.CAIR sent a letter to the manufacturer asking for an apology.
Oddly, it's reportedly illegal to sell fireworks with "questionable names" in Minnesota -- whatever the hell that means.
