NC Woman Accused of Sex with Boy

(Newport, North Carolina) A 28-year-old local woman, Cathy Ann Garner, has been accused of engaging in repeated sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy. She has been charged with statutory rape.

Carteret County deputies say the boy's mother came to them after suspecting the 28-year-old Garner was having a relationship with her son. Deputies say Garner was a friend of the victim's family.

Some friend, eh? Garner was booked into custody with bond set at $50,000.
