Girl, 16, Pounds Man in Sex Attack

(Olympia, Washington) A 40-year-old registered sex offender, Kevin James Stark, is in custody after allegedly attacking a 16-year-old girl Thursday night. The girl, Leslie Givens, reportedly fought off Stark after she was hit from behind.

Givens began taking karate last month, and said she repeatedly punched, kicked and bit his fingers because she was afraid he was going to do “inappropriate” things to her.[…]

Givens has scratches on her hands and legs, and bumps and bruises on her head. She stayed home from Timberline High School Friday, where she is a freshman.
