Hoosier Woman with Boy, 14

(Jeffersonville, Indiana) A 35-year-old Sellersburg woman, Katherine Cervantes, has been accused of engaging in sex with a 14-year-old boy. Cervantes was allegedly caught in the act by her husband.

Cervantes faces charges of class B felony sexual misconduct with a minor, class C felony sexual misconduct with a minor and class A misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Sellersburg Police Chief Russ Whelan said Cervantes had hosted a small gathering at her house with her daughter’s teenage friends and boyfriend.

“There were several people there during that night when it happened,” Whelan said. “I know there was some alcohol involved.”

According to the charging information, Cervantes is accused of helping or encouraging the alleged victim to consume alcohol.

Cervantes was booked into custody at the Michael L. Becher Adult Corrections Complex with bond set at $30,000.
