Florida Teacher Arrested on Carolina Warrants

(Palm Coast, Florida) A 28-year-old third and fourth grade teacher at South Daytona Elementary School, Amberlee Evonne Meeker, has been arrested on warrants out of North Carolina. She resigned today.

Meeker faces charges of solicitation of a child by computer and indecent liberties with a child.

Meeker was arrested on warrants from the Archdale, N.C., Police Department, Flagler County Sheriff's spokeswoman Debra Johnson said.

In a written release, Archdale police said the case against Meeker also involved dissemination of obscene material to a minor under 16 and preparing photographs or obscene film, photos or slides.

Meeker was booked into custody at the Flagler County Jail without bail.
