Here's something to add to the list of craziness occurring in Ontario. Along with legalizing marijuana and marrying homosexuals, you can now steal money, blow it all in the casino, blame the government, and pretty much get away with it according to Jake Rupert in a report for the CanWest News Service.
The report states:
Ontario Court Justice Paul Belanger said governments that make money from gambling must accept some responsibility for the "monsters" they've created.
"One of the consequences of this is there will be people who become hopelessly addicted to gambling," Judge Belanger said. "It is a recognized disease."
Because of this logic, Ottawa-area resident Boyd Dulmage was sentenced to probation, community service and restitution after being convicted of stealing $91,300. The judge said "he couldn't jail a man who started committing crimes to support an addiction to something the government is selling."
This is typical of what is happening in courthouses throughout the US and Canada - activist judges forgetting about the law and making decisions based on their own radical agendas.
