NIH Scientist Paid For Doing Nothing
This story in The Detroit News, reported by Tania Branigan, tells of a National Institutes of Health Scientist who has been paid about $100,000 annually for seven years for doing nothing. It should make any taxpaying citizen angry.
His is a classic example of how grossly mismanaged most government bureaucracies are. Read the article and realize that it represents only a snapshot of the big problem. The words "government," "bureaucracy," and "mismanagement" should always be placed in the same sentence in any written and oral communication.
