OHIO JUDICIAL NEWS

(Adrian, OH) Prosecution drops case against father charged with felony child-abuse for forcing his children to walk to school.

(Elyria, OH) Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Edward M. Zaleski yesterday rejected a motion for a 16-year-old murder defendant to attend classes at Lorain Admiral King High School while he awaits trial.

(Akron. OH) New "draconian" rules have been established on the viewing of public records in Summit County. Not allowed when viewing records:
Purses, briefcases, duffle bags, cell phones, computers, electronic devices, cameras, pens, pencils, markers, newspapers, documents, files, folders, staplers, staple removers and typewriter correction fluid.
I guess handguns, bombs, knives, scissors, and flame throwers are acceptable.

(Sandusky. OH) The Ohio 6th District Court of Appeals overturned two rulings: one where the judge didn't use the appropriate incantation in a molestation case where the defendant pleaded guilt and one where the trial court "did not make mandatory findings" nor "give its reasons for imposing consecutive sentences."
