YWCA FIRES PATRICIA IRELAND

Somehow, in all my reading, I missed the fact that Patricia Ireland was hired to head the YWCA. The ex-NOW president is an admitted bisexual adulterer and a supporter of transgenderism. That alone should have disqualified her from any position with the Young Women's Christian Association. But, it doesn't matter much now that I missed her hiring because she's been fired. The Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) spearheaded the effort to get her booted.

The Traditional Values Coalition has been credited by the Feminist Majority Foundation for pressuring the YWCA into getting rid of Patricia Ireland as head of this girl's group. The feminist group issued a press release on October 20, 2003 blaming "right-wing groups" like TVC for urging the YWCA leadership to get rid of Ireland. According to Feminist Majority Foundation leader Eleanor Smeal: "I am very concerned that pressure from right-wing groups resulted in the loss of a strong leader, both for women's rights and for ending racism, at the YWCA."

TVC organized a campaign against Patricia Ireland within days after the YWCA announced her hiring. A petition and letter-writing campaign was started which included a special report on Ireland's radical pro-abortion, and pro-homosexual background. Executive Director Andrea Lafferty noted that Ireland was fired because of pressure from soccer moms who had stopped donating to the YWCA.

"What I found was, time and again, mothers and grandmothers were very concerned that if they dropped their children or grandchildren off at the YWCA, they would be taken care of by lesbians," said Mrs. Lafferty.

The firing is obviously good news. I can't comprehend that there would be any prudent responsible parents who would want Patricia Ireland as a primary influence during the early years of their girl's life. Ireland has dedicated her life to an agenda of immoral and senseless sexual objectives.

I'm left with a couple of nagging questions. Who was/were the vacuous braintrust that hired Patricia Ireland in the first place? One or more individuals decided that Ireland was the best candidate for the job. Those that are responsible for hiring her are certifiable morons who should also be fired.

One last thing I must mention concerns Eleanor Smeal's statement that Ireland's firing results in losing strong leadership for ending racism at the YWCA. My question is, am I the only person that is totally oblivious of a racism problem at the YWCA?
