Another Animal Hoarder

(Popular Bluff, Missouri) According to a report by Lindsay Cummings in the Daily American Republic, the Butler County Sheriff's Department and the Humane Society of Missouri removed 50 to 70 dogs from the home of a female animal hoarder.
"She has been given numerous chances to rectify the situation," said Butler County Sheriff Deputy Cindy Bayer. "We talked to her last week and told her she would have to do something. Many of the dogs had no water, no food and were living in mud puddles. Her house is full of urine and feces from the dogs living there. It is so bad she is not even sure how many dogs are in there."

The dogs were chained to trees, cars and old gas tanks. Many were kept inside the woman's house, in what investigators with the humane society called deplorable conditions.

"The air in the house is thick to breath because of the pet dander and dust," said one investigator, who wished to remain anonymous. "The floor is covered with fur and the rooms are dark and damp from the amount of animals housed in there."
The woman has a history of animal hoarding in Missouri and Florida and may be charged with animal cruelty in this latest incident. For some unknown reason, the name of the woman was withheld from the report.

Sadly, just like pedophilia, rehabilitation of animal hoarders is rarely successful.
