Kyoto Protocol in Germany

With the CO2 emissions limits of the Kyoto Protocol becoming mandatory on the country of Germany next year, all segments of German society are jockeying for a preferential position. They apparently want to forego requiring reductions in the industrial sector and decided to put the burden on homes and motor vehicles.
"To make its Kyoto target, the government will have to introduce measures forcing private households and the transportation sector to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions," said Matthias Seiche from BUND, an environmental organization.
So, the belching smokestacks of industry are not going to be cleaned up. The average citizen is going to pay the price for Kyoto.

This is going to be a continuing story and it's bound to become more contentious as the general German population learns of the cost they'll be asked to pay. Expect grumbling in all the EU countries.

Also, let us not forget that Al Gore and John Kerry are big proponents of the Kyoto Protocols.
