(Oslo, Norway) Norway is planning on slaughtering more whales than previously because they negatively impact the fish harvest from the sea.
"We want to increase quotas," Fisheries Minister Svein Ludvigsen told parliament, which unanimously passed a non-binding resolution urging Oslo to raise minke whale catches "considerably" as soon as possible.Needless to mention, the animal rights and environmental advocacy groups are upset. However, they won't raise much of a stink since the country of Norway is jam-packed with their socialist buddies and they wouldn't want to alienate them.

Parliament's resolution said that seals and whales eat at least 5.5 million tons of fish and krill a year, double the tonnage caught by fishermen. Killing one minke whale could enable a five ton hike in catches of cod or herring, it said.
