School Terrorism - Update

FOXNews is reporting right now, Dana Lewis audio with Russian TV images, heavy automatic and small arms gunfire and explosions for about the last half hour have been coming from the school. About 30 hostages have escaped, some injured and covered with blood. Soldiers seen moving toward the three-story school. Gunfire is continuous.

Combat helicopters on scene. Russian Special Forces Alpha units are taking up positions around school.

Three days of lacking food and medicine, along with plugged sanitation facilities taking its toll in 90 degree heat on the estimated 900 children and adults.

Interfax is reporting the school roof has collapsed, probably from terrorists explosives.

[5:55am EDT, 1:55pm Southern Russian Time] Images of escaping hostages by Russian TV shows people having to be carried out or colapsing after a few steps. Half-naked children running out to get water.

It's reported that twenty adult males were taken and executed earlier, not confirmed. It's also reported that children are huddled in gymnasium surrounded by explosives.

Heavy gunfire continues.

Media is complaining that they are receiving no information from the Russian authorities.

Troops are now said to be in the school building.

CNN (Ryan Chilcote) is reporting that at least 10 people have been injured in the gunfight. In an unconfirmed report, the shooting started when children began running from the school and the Chechen separatists opened fire on the kids.

MSNBC (Branislav Siljkovic) reports from the scene that two female suicide bombers have left the school masquerading as rescue workers. They may have gotten away.

TASS News gives unconfirmed report that Russian troops have full control of school. Five terrorists reported killed.

[6:40am EDT] FOXNews (Dana Lewis) is reporting that 2 to 6 terrorists have escaped, using children as human shields. Gunfire continues at school so the battle apparently continues. Over 150 children taken to hospital. Russian soldiers are reported to have blown a hole in the school wall to allow many to escape.

CNN (Ryan Chilcote) reports from an area still under fire about 200 yards from school that terrorists are possibly trying to shoot their way out of the school.
