(Toledo, Ohio) I don't have a ready link, but it's probably not necessary in contending that the United Way has been nationally denying support to the Boy Scouts of America because it is an organization founded on a belief in God. Simply put, if you have faith in God, the United Way will cut off funding.
Given their rejection of religion, it's interesting and rather ironic that the United Way has scheduled a fund-raising concert at the Friendship Baptist Church for this evening. A program of religious and gospel music will be presented to the faithful followers of Jesus Christ from 6 to 9pm at Friendship Baptist, 5301 Nebraska Ave, in Toledo. Performing will be the Toledo Interfaith Mass Choir and others.
The concert is part of the United Way's Targeted Leader Initiative. Admission is free; an offering will be taken to aid the United Way. Information: 419-248-2424.The United Way eagerly takes from the faithful, but refuses to give to the faithful.
My take is that the actions of the United Way are hypocrisy of the highest order. What's next? Maybe we'll see the Boy Scouts called on to raise funds for the United Way.
