Black Market Missiles in Nicaragua

The Washington Times reports that a serious security situation has emerged in Nicaragua where an unknown number of shoulder-fired SA-7 missiles are being black marketed by corrupt elements of the Nicaraguan Army. In a sting operation earlier this month, three Nicaraguans were arrested trying to sell SA-7s to what they thought were Colombian terrorists and there's a real fear that they would just as easily sell them to Islamic terrorists. The U.S. is strongly pressuring Nicaraguan President Enrique Bolanos to find and destroy all the remaining missiles in the country. It's in his interest to do so or he can likely expect the U.S. to take a more hands-on approach to making it happen. We'll see. (Hat tip: Backcountry Conservative)
