(Batavia, Ohio) A 23-year-old female college graduate posed as a high school student for seven months in an undercover operation at Milford High School resulting in the Friday arrests of 16 students, four of which are adults. The school district, in conjunction with the police, hired North American Security Solutions Inc. to conduct the sting. The undercover agent was able to buy a variety of drugs from classmates, including ecstasy, marijuana, and hallucinogenic mushrooms. The transactions occurred inside the school, on school grounds, at a convenience store parking lot, and at private homes.
The adult students charged with drug trafficking are Stephen Kyle Dewitt of Milford; Jackson M. Tubbs of Milford; Andrew McAllister of Loveland; and Jared A. Schwartz of Milford. After spending the weekend in the Clermont County Jail, the adults students pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking charges before Municipal Magistrate Gregory Chapman. They were released to their parents with the stipulation that the parents pay $10,000 to $30,000 bond if the accused fail to appear at an April 13 hearing.
The 12 juvenile students were also charged with drug trafficking and released to their parents. They are slated to appear in Clermont County Juvenile Court on April 26.
The undercover investigation cost the Milford Exempted Village School District $60,000. I consider it to be a wise investment.
