Vagrancy Court

(Denver, Colorado) The city of Denver has decided that crimes committed by vagrants are different than crimes committed by functioning residents in the community. Therefore, a separate Denver Homeless Court will be launched. According to this report, the court will have "a judge and other officials specially trained to handle problems facing the city's homeless." Roxane White, Director of Human Services, said the court will only adjudicate minor offenses.

The goal of the project is to help homeless people have clear criminal records "if they turn their lives around." It appears that a person must be homeless to get the special treatment.
