'The Gates' in Central Park

(NYC) Remember those orange drapes scattered around Central Park last February? It's estimated they resulted in a $254 million windfall for the city of New York. The figure comes from initial data of economic activity at hotels, restaurants, and cultural institutions near Central Park and across the city.

Since the organizers sank only $21 million into the project, it has to be considered an overwhelming success.
