Woman Charged with Statutory Sexual Seduction

(Franklin, Massachusetts) Two FBI agents and Franklin Police Detective Kevin Connolly arrested Jennifer L. Marshall, 34, for allegedly performing oral sex on a 15-year-old boy in Nevada. Marshall is being charged by Las Vegas Metro Police with statutory sexual seduction.

Now, I must digress here. When I first skimmed through this story, I thought, 'My God! How long is this kid's schlong!?' The kid's in Nevada and she's in Massachusetts doing a Lewinsky. I've heard of super-endowed guys but, Holy moly, I've never heard of one that crossed state lines. It sounds like material for a sci-fi porn movie.

Getting back, it's apparent that at some point in time, Marshall was in Nevada and that's when the alleged crime occurred and it also explains why the FBI is involved. It probably has something to do with flight to avoid prosecution, which is a federal crime. I'm guessing here. The initial reporting is understandably sketchy.

Marshall is scheduled to appear in Wrentham District Court later today.

A final thought. I'm intrigued by the idea that a singular activity could, under certain circumstances, occur in two different jurisdictions. Besides the ridiculous thought of a guy being serviced in one jurisdiction by a person in a different jurisdiction, what about the situation where an activity is conducted at the state line? Bear with me a moment. Take the theoretical situation where a pregnant Mexican woman, ready to give birth, is at the U.S.-Mexico border and her entire body is in Mexico. She is scrunched up to the international boundary in such a manner that, when she gives birth, the baby crosses the border into the U.S. The umbilical cord could be knotted and severed at the international boundary. Then the baby would be a U.S. citizen without the mother ever entering the U.S.

This post is brought to you courtesy of a few cups of strong coffee.

[Update 12/5/08]
