Swampland Sold on eBay

(Daytona Beach, Florida) A company that sold swampland to buyers on eBay has been ordered by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to track down everybody who bought swamp and give all their money back. The company, Davlar Inc., sold 91 parcels of swamp but didn't follow Florida laws requiring sellers of two or more parcels of undeveloped, subdivided lands to register with the state and obtain approval for any advertisements used to market the land.

Interestingly, it seems that many people are selling Florida swampland on the Internet. The state has 15 other investigations of illegal land sales in progress.

Caveat emptor.
