(Clarion, Pennsylvania) From The Clarion News:
Students in Beth Ochs' third-grade class at North Clarion Elementary School studied endangered species of Pennsylvania and North America as part of a unit on endangered species and habitats. Students learned human encroachment and how it affects the food chain and food webs, the draining of wetlands and how they should be protected because half of them have been lost. Species endangered in Pennsylvania include the red bellied turtle, the ruffed green snake, the mud salamander, the Canadian lynx and the Bald Eagle.Okay, we can check off "Save the Wetlands" and "Protect Endangered Species." Next, children, we'll discuss the "Save the Whales" and the "Preserve the Rain Forest" modules.
