(Mombasa, Kenya) This tropical city on the Indian Ocean, just a few degrees south of the Equator, is popular among American and British Coalition Forces for rest and recreation. Consequently, the local media felt compelled to report the following odd comparison.
From The Standard:
Police sources confirmed the [British] soldiers' arrival from Iraq, where they have been stationed. So, the Brits go to the national parks while the Americans become "adventurous" with the local twilight girls. Based upon my experience in the military, this sounds about right.
But their arrival did not seem to excite twlight (sic) girls in Mombasa, who claimed the "British Johnnies" were not as adventurous as US marines.
Last week, 300 US marines docked at the port and left after a day.
Sources said the British soldiers planned to visit national parks.
