Women Having Sex With Boys

Rene Biggel
(Los Angeles, CA) Bell Gardens High School music teacher, Renee Biggel, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with participating in sex acts with a child under the age of 18 and molestation of a child under the age of 18. Police were tipped by a caller who had suspicions that Biggel was having improper relations with a student.

Bail was set at $125,000. Biggel's case is brand new, so information is sketchy.

Diane West
(Bayonne, NJ) Following up on a previous post, former Bayonne High School guidance counselor Diane West, 50, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact, a 3rd degree felony. West admitted in court to having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old male student she was counseling. The victim was a friend of West's son and he moved into her home in 2000. During his stay at the West residence, she had sex with the boy.

The offense could carry a sentence of up to five years in prison but, in return for her plea, Prosecutor Debra Simon will recommend probation to Superior Court Judge Camille Kenny. A sentencing date of October 21 has been set. Until then, West remains free on bail.

This case is not typical due the age difference between West, 50, and the boy, 15. More often the female teacher is much younger. That said, the scenario that led up to her having sex with the boy seems weird. First, West is his guidance counselor. Second, he moves into her home while still being counseled, effectively as a companion to her son of the same age. It's almost as if she had two sons, one real and one pseudo. And then, third, West has sex with him. We need a psychologist to figure this case out because the circumstances seem to indicate something more than a simple lapse in judgment on the part of Diane West.
This blog has documented many women with boys sex cases over the past year and I suspect that many are never reported. Collectively, they represent a disturbing trend that runs counter to the myth that older women having sex with boys is victimless. Anyone who follows through on the cases will likely agree that many lives are inextricably altered and some are ruined. Irreparable harm is being inflicted on marriages, families, and communities.

It's time to dispel the myth.
