(Istanbul, Turkey) A 21-year-old Syrian, Hamed Obysi, has been arrested by Turkish police on charges of belonging to Al-Qaeda. Another Syrian, 32-year-old Luai Sakra, was apprehended by Turkish police for suspected involvement in the November 2003 bombings in Istanbul.

Suicide bombers detonated explosive-laden trucks outside two synagogues in Istanbul on November 15, 2003, and the British consulate and the British-based HSBC bank five days later, killing a total of 63 people.
Seventy-one people were charged in connection with the bombings, the deadliest such attacks on Turkish soil.
