Terrorist Set Free

(Vancouver, British Columbia) I don't get it. What loose logic allows the release of terrorists? They regularly prove that they're willing to commit suicide to kill innocent victims. Why ever release them?

From the Seattle Times:
An Algerian-born man accused of helping in the millennium plot to bomb the Los Angeles airport was quietly deported from Canada after years fighting for refugee status there, officials said Friday.

Samir Ait Mohamed was put aboard a flight leaving Vancouver airport Wednesday, officials said, after he voluntarily agreed to drop his fight against the deportation order.

Janis Ferguson of the Canada Border Services Agency said Canada had been seeking Mohamed's detention after the United States dropped its extradition request last August. Ferguson said she could not reveal his destination, but said suspects were typically returned to their homeland. Though Algerian by birth, Mohamed lived in Britain and Germany before coming to Canada in 1997.
So, there you have it. Mohamed is implicated in the plot to attack the Los Angeles International Airport and what's his sentence? Nothing. He walks. Or, rather, he flies -- somewhere. For some reason, his destination is protected information.

This episode with Samir Ait Mohamed illustrates the exact wrong way to fight terrorism. Mark my words. The thug bastard will show up again and chances are that some innocent people died along the way.
