Female Teacher Shelved for Sexual Relations with Student

(Brownsville, Texas) A complaint was filed with the Brownsville Independent School District last Friday and 25-year-old teacher, Samantha Drash, was suspended with pay for alleged improper sexual relations with a male student. Drash teaches government at Pace High School.

An internal school district investigation has been launched. As yet, no charges have been filed.

Pace High School teacher Samantha Drash resigned her position this past Monday amid continuing allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with a student. According to School District Police Chief Oscar Garcia, the criminal investigation also continues.

Interestingly, divorce papers filed by Drash's estranged husband make reference to the sex with the student as an act of adultery on the teacher's part.

Last Thursday, Samantha Drash was arrested on sexual misconduct charges one day after being indicted by a Cameron County grand jury. Drash is charged with having an inappropriate relationship between educator and student and sexual assault of a child. If convicted of the charges against her, Drash faces up to 40 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Drash pleads not guilty to inappropriate sexual relationship with a male student athlete and claims the allegations were an act of revenge by her estranged husband.

Drash case dismissed.
