(Brownsville, Texas) U.S. Customs agent Dalila Munoz Migliore committed suicide after she was denied a transfer.
From BrownsvilleHerald.com:
Desperate to join her husband in Laredo, where he was stationed with the Border Patrol, Migliore sought a transfer from Customs and Border Protection, where she worked as an agent.Excuse me for being cynical, but I think there's more to this story. The motive seems to be too tightly packaged and the report conveys a bit of editorializing on the part of a union official representing customs agents. It's also odd that the report of the suicide is published on March 19th when it actually occurred on January 16th.
Repeatedly denied a transfer to the Laredo office, Migliore took her life.
She shot herself in the chest with her government-issued pistol.
Migliore turned 28 just the month before.
Condolences to the family.
