Fifth-Grade Girls Set School on Fire

(Cleveland, Ohio) Using a Zippo lighter, two fifth-grade girls at St. John Nepomucene Elementary School set fire to trash and paper in their classroom, resulting in an estimated $200,000 damage. The school was evacuated and no injuries were reported. The motive, according to Principal Wunker, was bad grades.

The 11-year-old girls have been charged in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court with aggravated arson. Repairs to the school are expected to take two months.

I'm no expert on child psychology, but wouldn't the 11-year-old girls be more apt to try and harm the teacher who gave them the bad grades as opposed to burning up/down the school? Isn't it typical for kids to blame other people for their problems?

Apparently not.
