Brit Hume Shows Bias to the Right
At the opening day baseball game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs, President Bush threw the ceremonial first pitch. Reporting the event on Special Report w/ Brit Hume for Fox News, Hume stated that the President's pitch was "high and inside."
The pitch was high and off the plate, however, no batter was anywhere near home plate so the pitch was neither inside nor outside. The catcher caught the ball on the third base side of home plate which would be an inside pitch only to a right-handed batter. To a left-handed batter, the pitch would be outside. Like I mentioned, Hume called it an inside pitch without a batter in the box.
Therefore, a prudent observer must conclude that Brit Hume has a bias toward the right since the pitch would be inside only to a right-hander. Of course, the bias only pertains to baseball.
To bring up a totally unrelated point, I used to watch Fox News frequently and regularly throughout the week but my viewing habit has changed. Specifically, the Fox & Friends Weekend program is intolerable. Co-anchor Julian Phillips is too painful to watch as he repeatedly weighs in on subject matter that is foreign to him. Typically, the news personalities on Fox know their stuff. Phillips doesn't and it's irritating to watch him try.
