(London, England) The British Parliament is considering a proposal to allow police to notify banks of the names of child porn purchasers so their credit cards can be cancelled.
From Daily Mail:
The move is targeted at professionals such as lawyers and doctors who have most to fear from the humiliation of having their cards withdrawn.Since possessing child pornography is a serious crime which carries serious punishment in the U.S., there's no concern about the pedophiles' credit cards. Apparently, simple possession of child porn isn't criminal in the UK.

It is not thought banks would be able to cancel all of a paedophile's cards, just the one used in a particular offence.
Today's debate will consider changes to the Data Protection Act which would allow police to pass on the names.
