Teacher Dates Boy, Loses Credentials

(North Ridgeville, Ohio) A 28-year-old Spanish teacher at North Ridgeville High School, Stacey Ostapowicz, faced a criminal complaint last March after she was found to be romantically dating a 17-year-old male student. She resigned her teaching position on March 27.

In June, Ostapowicz pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the unruliness of a minor and was given a suspended sentence of 30 days in jail. She was also ordered to surrender her teaching credentials and undergo counseling.

So, Ostapowicz decided that dating a high school boy was more important than her career. On the other hand, she probably wasn't thinking at all.
