Alert PETA

This should make Pamela Anderson hoppingly, or floppingly depending on one's viewpoint, disgruntled.
Smithfield Foods plans to build a $200 million cattle slaughter plant in Texas County, Okla., with ContiGroup Cos., expanding its production capacity by two-thirds.

Smithfield said it agreed in principle to form a joint venture with ContiGroup for the project, which is expected to get under way in January. The plant, which will be able to process 5,000 head of cattle a day, should be operational by mid-2008.
Each day, 5,000 cattle slaughtered. Day in and day out, millions of pounds of animal flesh will be processed. Send donations to PETA P. Anderson, Box E-I-E-I-O, Hollywood, California.
