Teacher Accused of Rape - Updated

(Walters, Oklahoma) A 33-year-old former teacher at Geronimo High School, Regina McKay, has been charged with rape. The alleged victim was a 17-year-old who stated that McKay "offered to buy him cigarettes and alcohol if he would come to her home in Walters and have sex with her." He did.

McKay was booked and released on $2,000 bond. A court hearing is scheduled for January.

(Cotton County, Oklahoma) Regina McKay pleaded no contest to second-degree rape and has been sentenced.
The Cotton County DA says McKay received a sentence of five years in prison, but she will serve only 30 days, and those will be on weekends.

McKay will be on probation for two years and must pay a $1,000 fine in addition to court costs. She will be required to register as a sex offender, and will be required to confirm her address every three months.

McKay will be permitted to be with children only when there is adult supervision, however she will be allowed to attend her children's school functions.
McKay must also surrender her Oklahoma Teacher's License and attend one year of counseling.
