Woman Booked for Sex with Boy

(Roy, Utah) A 22-year-old woman, Emily Catherine Alvarez, was arrested this week for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham said the woman, whose husband is in the military, had fallen on financial hard times and had moved in with a family back in November.

"In the process of that, she became intimate with a 15-year-old son while in the home," he said Thursday.

Whinham said the woman would often baby-sit the family children, putting her in a position of trust. The boy's parents eventually learned of the sexual relationship and called police.

Alvarez has been charged with two counts of felony unlawful sexual activity. She has been booked into the Weber County Jail and is considered a flight risk since she's originally from Britain.
