(Cornwall, Ontario) In January 2006, teacher and mother of two at Rothwell-Osnabruck Public School in Ingleside, Jennifer Dorland, was charged with sexual assault of a 13-year-old male student.
For some unknown reason, it's taken over a year for the wheels of Canadian justice to start moving.
A preliminary inquiry started yesterday to find out the circumstances which led to a 13-year-old boy allegedly being sexually assaulted by his 41-year-old teacher in nearby Ingleside. If it takes another year for the next court appearance, the case may be dropped due to lack of interest and justice may never be served.
Jennifer Dorland is charged with sexual assault, invitation for sexual touching and sexual interference.
Ontario Provincial Police say there is no evidence of extensive sexual contact between the two but allege there were a series of incidents of inappropriate touching and contact which took place in September 2004.
