Super Bowl Pregame

In the CBS Super Bowl Pregame Show there was a segment profiling former Super Bowl MVP, Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward. Addressing Ward's mixed Black-Korean heritage, the show's producers included footage of the star's recent visit to South Korea, with special attention given to how the Koreans reacted to a mixed-race celebrity.

In a nutshell, they like the celebrity part of Ward but not the mixed-race part, being that Koreans are ethnically quite prejudicial. Anyway, the segment included a few seconds of an interview with Seoul-based Robert Koehler, veteran blogger at The Marmot's Hole, who spoke a few words about Korean word definitions being racially prejudicial.

What's interesting is that CBS, with its flair for not always getting the facts right, identified Robert as working for The Seoul Times by on-screen graphic. He doesn't.

No big deal but illustrative and worth mentioning for two reasons. One is that CBS has gained a reputation for being nearly correct some of the time. The second is that I'm no fan of CBS, preferring not to miss an opportunity to take a shot.
