(Delhi, New York) A 23-year-old Delhi woman, Jessie B. Tompkins, has been sentenced by Delaware County Court Judge Carl Becker to six months in jail for rape and criminal contempt of court.
Tompkins was originally charged with sexual misconduct and accepted a plea deal which banned contact between her and a 14-year-old boy. Tompkins violated the conditions of the plea by being later found having intercourse with the teen.
As a result, she was charged with second-degree rape and criminal contempt.
Tompkins was also ordered by Judge Becker to register as a sex offender, pay $1,320 in penalties and serve 10 years probation. The six-month jail sentence will run concurrent to an existing one-year sentence Tompkins is serving for a probation violation.
